The conference “Interoperability and dematerialization of administrative processes to serve the country” will take place in New University of Lisbon, 22nd March 2012. Our special guest is Andrea Di Maio, from the Gartner Research, via videoconference. The pressure to reduce public deficit and the need to cut government expenditure put emphasis on reduction of operating costs from current bureaucratic procedures, using the opportunities offered by information technologies. The provision of a public service rarely runs out within a single organizational unit or government level (central, regional and local), that’s why we have to share and dematerialize data and information to accelerate and give transparency to all decision processes, giving priority to information architecture design, systems interoperability and orientation to basic events of life of citizens and enterprises.
